Wild Weekend

Hey!
So Britt came to NCU this weekend because it was WEA (isn't that funny, WEA...hehe). She came up on Friday for chapel, and today at 2:30 (more like 2:45 or 3:00) we met her mom and Jess in Rochester. It was a good weekend. I shall go through it day by day (from my perspective).
Friday:
We went to chapel like good students and met with Jesus (and Dr. Anderson). I really did enjoy chapel. It was Friday prayer and fasting, but we just ended up getting communion and then getting lunch. We ate our lunches from the deli in Craig's office (it's actually the video booth and this guy named Eric's office, but Craig's name is on the lamenated sheet of paper too). That was fun. After lunch, we came back to the room. Ruth worked. She's a hard worker and did a good job. While she was hard at work, Britt and I went to Barnes and Noble and talked...about boys...that's all I'm saying...we want to protect the rights of the innocent. It was fun, but then me the party pooper had to go to work @4. We came back, but then we saw Craig and he said he'd work for me if we went to Chipotle for supper. Who could say no to that? No work AND Chipotle! The only bad thing was that I had planned on making fajitas and having a fiesta for supper...I cancled it...but I forgot to tell the people I invited...like our brother floor...whoops. Britt and I headed over to Craig's and made up the fajitas anyway. We saved it for later. Craig asked if we would not leave until someone got there (either him or his roommate). We chilled and watched Lizze McGuire (and Even Stevens and Home Improvement). It was a long wait...with candy...and cable...I felt lazy...it was good. Craig showed up @6 and we went back to the dorms. Then we got ready with Ruth and headed to Chipotle. We got there and ate, and it was amazing. But...there was something missing. We wanted more. We went to Dinky Town. Annie's Parlour was calling our name. We drove around Dinky Town for quite some time looking for parking. When we finally parked, we walked to Annie's and ordered a shake (and Craig ordered a float). It was fun. We were getting tired and things were pretty funny. Annie's was good, but there was still something missing. Two words: Cheesecake Factory. On our way out to the car, we saw a gang of rollerbladers coming down the sidewalk. Low and behold, it was our brother floor! It was a kind of random encounter, but it was fun. That was when I found out that I forgot to tell them the fiesta was canceled...I guess they came to our floor during open dorms looking for the fiesta and fajitas but found neither. Again, whoops. Moving on, we went to Rosedale Mall (?) to the Cheesecake Factory. We each got a piece. They were HUGE! Needless to say, after two other restaurants, we had some difficulty with the cheesecake. Actually, we were on a bit of a sugar buzz...or maybe it was just an "I'm so full I'm going crazy" buzz. We were having problems. All of us came back to NCU feeling like we would explode at any sudden movement. When we got to our dorm room, we got ready for bed and watched Lord of the Beans (good movie). That was the end of Friday.
Saturday:
It was 8:30 and my phone rang. I started hitting my alarm clock in vain. I realized it was my phone and grabbed it to see who was waking me up. It said Steve K. I thought, "This has got to be either a halucination or some sort of elaborate dream." I opened up my phone just to see if it would say disconnected. It started counting the seconds as if I was actually on the phone. Then it hit me, I was on the phone. Steve had called me and I was just staring at the screen. My mind turned on and I said hello. Steve wanted to know if I could help out with video for the leadership conference. It wasn't a big deal so I agreed, left a note for Britt to call me, and headed over. After that, I got ready and Britt and I headed downtown just to check it out a little. We went to Macy's. That lasted like 5 seconds. I was so afraid that if I looked at something wrong, it would break, and I would have to pay like $3,000 for it. We were in and out in no time. Then we decided to go to MOA. We took the lightrail. It was my first time. It was cool. We hung out at MOA for a while and then I had to come back to go to work. Britt met Craig and Ruth in the cafeteria and I got ready. I worked from 6-2AM with a 30 minute break (pizza with Craig, Ruth, and Britt). Because it was daylight savings time, I had the option of staying until 3 (which was 2 after the clocks were rolled back an hour). I decided to sleep. While I was working, the others (Craig, Ruth and Britt) were going to go to a Barlow Girl, Matthew West, and Downhere concert. It was sold out, so they went to Boarders instead and took pictures for me (I really wanted some pictures of the weekend). They had fun I think.
Sunday:
We got up for church. We went to church. It was good. After we ate the fajitas from Friday and headed on over to Rochester to meet Britt's mom (it was the others and me that went). We took pictures of that too.
Overall, it was an amazing weekend. I had lots of fun. Here are some pictures.

It's 7:12 Saturday Morning!

Why, hello there! Do you know what time it is? Of course you do (it's the title). Right now, I'm at work. It's fall break, it's too early, and no one is around! I am so excited, you have no idea. Actually, the real reason I'm blogging isn't because I necessarily have something to blog, it's because the computers at work won't let me check my email. I know, sad. Oh well!
Okay, okay, I'll start blogging...jeez!
I guess I can blog the exciting news. I got to go to Youth Convention and see the Rev! That really made me happy. I was getting home sick because everyone was gone and I missed home. Seeing the Rev made my day. This is how it happened: I couldn't find a ride to Rochester mainly because I worked on Thurs. night from 6PM-2AM. That means I couldn't go until Fri. Friday came and I called some girls in the Rev to see how everything went. That was fun. I still wanted to go though. It was a complete miracle, but the girl that gives me a ride to church let me borrow her car. I was so happy! I drove down to Rochester, came in in the middle of the afternoon service, and got to hang out with everyone for the rest of the day. I loved it. I came back last night and got up for work this morning. The end. Not very interesting...I know. Sometimes blog posts are just like that, okay? Life doesn't always have to be interesting. Although, if it's going to be published, maybe it should be interesting. Ummm...oh well!
That's all I've got. Seriously. I'm running off of like..not too many hours of sleep. Good times, good times. Okay, bye!

PLEASE WALK

Slow down! Take it easy! Chill.
Okay, now that I've slowed down a bit, let me see what I can get out of myself so that this thing can be updated. Before I do that, can I just say that the guy in front of me is giving the perfect example of what I have felt like. He's at Dunn Brothers trying to enjoy his Orange Juice while doing homework. How is he doing his homework? His face is on top of his book and his eyes are definately closed. What a multi tasker! Oh wait, what's this...he gets a phone call. Ah yes, you can't forget about being social.
Well, it's been kind of crazy. There are just too many things available these days. You know exactly what I'm talking about, so don't even act like you don't. Why can't there just be a list of like ten things for each person that they are qualified to do. They can then pick one thing from that list, and do one thing at a time. Hmmm....thinking....thinking....no. My brain has just told me that as nice as it would be to not make my own decisions, that's dangerously close to communism. I'm not a fan. Oh well. So school rocks. I'm learning to love homework and hate sleep. No, you're right, I was lying. I still love sleep. I just do less homework. Actually, college isn't a big homework kind of thing (unless you count reading as homework). I pretty much wait until I think I've had enough sleep and am not in class, then I do my homework. It's working out alright...except that I have a paper that needs to be written on Tuesday...and I had an exam today that went well (except for this one question that I had no clue on. If you want to know how much of the test the question was worth, you'll have to ask me--that's just not something that should be public knowledge)...and I'm a couple fiversixersevenerso days behind on my journaling. Like I said, I think it's working out.
Serious time: I know that I need to cut some things back, so I dropped one thing completely and cut back in another area. I think I'll be okay. If anyone is feeling like I am being a jerk or ignoring them or that I just plain and simple hate them, well, you're probably wrong. Just ask my family, I never talk to anyone (it's not just you). Speaking of my family, I'm sad because I can't go home this weekend. On the bright side, my dad is coming down for my grandma's birthday. I get to see him and my grandma and my aunt and even possibly my mom. Yea! I'm not coming home for Fall Break (Oct. 19-22). However, I am going to, hopefully, join the Rev. at Youth Convention on Friday. I would go with them on Thursday, but I'm doing some serious working that weekend, and Friday was the only day I set aside to not work (kind of like the Sabbath except...different).
Wow, my brain is going crazy right now. Please walk. Sorry. Walking.
I've been doing a WISE (don't ask me what that stands for) class for the ELED program. It's cool. I get to go to a classroom and help out a teacher. Right now I'm actually working with two teachers. One teaches an ESL (English as a Second Language) class that I help with, and the other teaches a first grade class. I go to the ESL classroom three times a week for a half hour each time. I really like it (partly because it's great experience if I want to teach overseas and partly because there are only three kids in the class--easy crowd control). Today was actually my first time in the first grade classroom. Um...yeah...first graders...enough said. Even though that probably was all I needed to say, I'm going to say more (sorry). When I got there, they were working on a graph or something. There was a lot of paste and a lot of paper scraps. The teacher asked if I would take a student and work with them independantly on counting and stuff. Well, I seriously love math and was excited to work with a student in math. Before I even found out which student she wanted me to help, she asked if I could handle two students. Um, hello! I'm Chelsea. I can handle whatever you can dish! Yeah, I've OBVIOUSLY never taught first graders! So I said sure and took two girls out to the "volunteer table" to work on counting. One, two, three is probably all they remember counting to. At least it's all I remember counting to. They wanted to play the math game. Then they didn't want to play because they were losing. Then they wanted to get a drink. Then they didn't want to be friends. Then they wanted to hug and make up. Then they wanted to play math bingo. Then they wanted to run around. Then they wanted to dance and yell. Then they wanted to touch all of the kids walking by. Then they wanted to pout in the corner. Then they HAD to go to the bathroom or else they were going to pee their pants. Then they wanted to play the game. Then they wanted to run down to the office. Then they thought it would be fun to climb on the railing and wanted to jump off. Um...yeah...first graders...enough said. Those girls had so much energy that I'm suprised they didn't explode! As crazy as it was, I had fun. They were sweet girls and just wanted to have fun. They could care less about math. Actually, I feel like I did more teaching on listening and sitting in chairs and not talking than I did about math. The most productive thing we did was count to 100 (I told them that if they could get all the way to 100 without getting out of their seats and without stopping that they could have a bathroom break). Good times, good times. Moral of the story: stick to upper elementary school kids.
Well, I have to work in an hour and I have to go to the accounting office and explain that I accidently pushed the "finish giving" button one too many times while doing online giving for missions. They decided to make missions giving a one-time online gift (once during the semester, that is). If only I knew how to work a computer! Let me tell you, the computer sure knows how to work me. Until next time, please walk. Thank-you.
